Less than five months before the big week, the festival already has its first major fireworks headline: the Isabel de Villena-Gregorio Gea falla in Mislata and the Espartans del Foc association have signed with Pirotecnia Alto Palancia to fire a 527-kilo mega-mascletà, the biggest in Fallas history. The event will take place on one of the nights of the Fallas 2027 big week — still to be confirmed as 17 or 18 March — with Mislata's Plaza Mayor as its setting.
The figure beats the previous record: back in 2025, a 501-kilo mascletà was fired, so the new project pushes up the gunpowder and cements its place as the biggest fallera mascletà ever. The display will be both manual and mechanised, and Pirotecnia Alto Palancia itself has confirmed the contract signing, thanking the commissions for their "confidence in us for this magnificent night-time mascletà project."
Mislata has become one of the fireworks hubs of the province: it keeps a prominent gunpowder programme for its September festivities and for 9 d'Octubre, and during fallas week it already hosts several events that draw gunpowder fans. The Isabel de Villena-Gregorio Gea commission, moreover, already fires a regular night-time mascletà at its own festivities, with Pirotecnia Nadal Martí in the same Plaza Mayor in 2026.
The exact date of the display will be announced once the commission finalises its big-week programme. For now, the news has already put Mislata on the fireworks map of Fallas 2027, which will run from 15 to 19 March.
