Editorial Policy and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

At Fallas de València (fallas.es), we are committed to providing rigorous, factual, timely, and high-quality information about the Fallas festival, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

This editorial policy outlines our journalistic standards, content creation methodology, information sources, and our ethical framework regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, in full compliance with European and international regulations.

1. Editorial Principles and Mission

Accuracy and integrity: Our priority is to provide verified information regarding the festival calendar, commissions, monuments, pyrotechnic shows, cultural events, and official resolutions from the Junta Central Fallera and related institutions.
Independent coverage: We are an independent digital media platform. We do not officially represent the Junta Central Fallera or local authorities, operating with full journalistic independence and public interest focus.
Respect for Fallas culture: We celebrate and document the unique culture, language, festive satire, and artistic craftsmanship of Fallas commissions, monument artists, and pyrotechnicians.

2. Information Sources and Verification

News published on our portal is derived exclusively from verified, primary public sources:

Official announcements: Press releases, notices, regulations, and official classifications from Junta Central Fallera (JCF) and the City Council of Valencia.
Municipal notices and safety guidelines: Traffic advisories, civil protection alerts, and local security ordinances.
Fallas commissions and festive guilds: Direct statements from Fallas committees, regional groupings, and artisan guilds.
Source citations: Whenever appropriate, articles include direct links and attributions to original official publications.

3. Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

To provide continuous, structured, and multilingual coverage of the vast Fallas schedule, Fallas de València utilizes Artificial Intelligence and natural language processing as a technical and editorial assistance tool.

In compliance with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation EU 2024/1689) and international media guidelines:

Assistance, not replacement: AI tools assist in synthesis, formatting, structuring press releases, and multilingual translation.
Human oversight (Human-in-the-loop): All AI-assisted content is verified, edited, and approved by human editors before publication. No articles are published without human validation.
Zero fabricated information: Our systems rely strictly on verified facts from cited official sources. We do not generate speculative, synthetic, or unverified claims.
Editorial responsibility: The editorial team of Fallas de València assumes full responsibility for all content published across the portal.

4. Corrections and Updates

Despite our strict verification process, festival schedules, pyrotechnic displays, and outdoor activities remain subject to sudden meteorological or logistical changes.

If you spot any error, outdated schedule, or inaccuracy, please notify us immediately through our Contact Form. We will review and correct the information promptly.
