The Plaza del Pilar commission held its Mig Any last Saturday with a day of paellas that brought together falleros and regular collaborators, grouped under the name Gent del Pilar. The get-together, halfway to Fallas 2027, ended with the awards for the best culinary creations and the official unveiling of the sketches of the monuments that will be planted in the same square six months from now.

The large falla, by artist Pere Baenas, will carry the motto "Río". The children's falla, created by Cromatiq Art Studio, will be presented under the motto "Què gran és ser menut!".

The Mig Any is becoming one of the key dates in the fallera calendar when commissions start showing their hand: to the gathering and the paella is added the first look at the artistic projects that will compete in March. The square, one of the historic commissions of the Cap i Casal, heads into 2027 with two sketches already on the table and the machinery running six months before the plantà.
