Valencia's City Council plenary is debating this Friday 30 October the 2027 municipal budget, a record 1,361.14 million euros that lifts the Fallas allocation by 7.5% to 8.97 million euros. It is the last budget of Mayor María José Catalá's term before the general election on 29 November.

The Fallas allocation thus grows for the fourth straight year, reaching 8.97 million. It is joined by 3.49 million for the rest of the city's festivals and traditions, up 20.2%, and 9.3 million in cultural investment, including the children's reading voucher, the conversion of Casa del Relojero into the Santo Cáliz Interpretation Centre and the future Benicalap auditorium.

The document, approved by the Local Government Board on 22 October, is being debated in a plenary with political uncertainty: the PP-Vox government needs four votes to guarantee its motions, and the two councillors expelled from Vox, Juanma Badenas and Cecilia Herrero (now non-attached), hold the key to stability in the last ordinary plenary of the term.

The accounts add to a calendar of record figures for Fallas 2027: the spending declared by nearly 400 commissions reached 10.59 million euros, the highest figure ever, and the Junta Central Fallera will have a budget of 4.4 million. The 8.97 million municipal allocation strengthens the economic backing of the fiesta in a year gearing up for record-breaking Fallas next March.
