Sagunt's Special Section falla federation unveiled on Sunday 1 November the projects its six committees will plant in March 2027. The event, in the gardens of the Port de Sagunt civic centre, opened with a minute's silence for the victims of the Urda train crash and was above all a defence of the falla artist's craft.

In the adult category, La Victòria again trusts Rafa Ibáñez; La Marina has Mario Gual; Eduardo Merello has Xesco Gil; El Palleter has Josemi Gasent, and Plaza Rodrigo has Erik Martínez. On the children's side the projects belong to Vicente Gomar (La Victòria), El Talleret (La Marina), David Ojeda (La Palmereta), Antonio Verdugo (Plaza Rodrigo) and Manuel Rubio (El Palleter).

Last year's winners

The federation used the occasion to hand out its awards for the 2026 season. Manuel Rubio took the children's prize for his work for El Palleter, and Erik Martínez won the adult category with Plaza Rodrigo's monument. Both stay with the same committees in 2027, as does every other name on the list: no changes at any of the six boundaries.

The artists walked the audience through each project themselves — inspiration, scenes and construction process — in front of institutional guests and members of the public. The morning included danses from falleros and falleras with dolçaina and drum, soprano and fallera Silvia Vázquez performing Nessun Dorma and the regional anthem, and a set from the Infinity Dance school.

Among those attending were councillors Patricia Sánchez (Festivities) and Natalia Antonino (Tourism), Sagunt's falleras mayores Empar Ríos Sánchez-Mellado and María Pozuelo Martín with their courts of honour, Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt president Aitor Muñoz and Special Section federation president Nino López.

With the presentation, the Camp de Morvedre's top section has its artistic line-up settled four months before the plantà, and one eye on the annual event it uses to stake its claim on the wider falla map.
